The pattern has no timer
A QR code is a grid that encodes information. A camera reads that grid and reconstructs the content, which could be a website address, contact record or Wi-Fi configuration. The pattern itself has no subscription, account or expiration date. A saved image will encode the same information tomorrow as it does today. What changes is often the thing behind the pattern: a website might move, a file might become private or a domain might stop being renewed. Keep this distinction in mind before planning any permanent signage.
Static codes carry the content directly
If you encode your own website URL as a static code, the phone opens that address without asking QRForever for permission. There is no QRForever account to maintain and no QRForever redirect in the middle. Keep your domain and page working and the code remains useful. A direct Wi-Fi payload is different again: it carries credentials rather than a web address. It continues to contain the same credentials, even if they are no longer the correct credentials for that network.
Dynamic codes depend on a hosted link
A dynamic code encodes a short address operated by a provider. That address sends the visitor to the current destination. The print stays the same while you change the destination in a dashboard. This extra step creates a dependency on the provider’s availability and policies. Before ordering a large print run, read what happens at the end of a trial, after cancellation and after the account is deleted. An editable destination is useful only if the intermediate address keeps resolving for your audience.
A documented trial example
The QR Code Generator Pro help centre says dynamic QR codes made during its 14-day trial are deactivated when the trial ends. Someone scanning a deactivated code reaches a service page instead of the original destination. The article was updated on 21 August 2026; this comparison was checked on 20 October 2026. This is a specific policy example, not a claim about every provider or every paid plan. Read the linked source before choosing a service for a time-sensitive campaign.
Our promise and its boundaries
QRForever dynamic codes never expire and are never switched off for non-payment. Free includes three dynamic codes. If you downgrade with more codes than your allowance, they keep redirecting but become read-only until you upgrade or delete enough codes. Deliberately paused codes show a neutral page until resumed. Codes disabled for abuse do not redirect. Deleting a code or your account removes its redirect. The destination must also remain available: we cannot keep a third-party page, payment service or document-sharing permission working for you.
Choose for the lifetime of the print
Use static codes when the embedded content is stable and you want to avoid a redirect dependency. Choose dynamic when a menu, manual or campaign destination may change after printing. Save the original image and a record of what it encodes. Put a readable address or contact detail beside important codes so people have another route. QRForever is a new independent service built by SupaDesign in Ireland, and this promise describes the product policy rather than a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. For essential information, maintain a fallback that does not require scanning.
